SIP Print

Taking VoIP in New Directions Industries: Telecom/VoIP, software

In early July 2008, SIP Print (www.sipprint.com) co-founders approached Skyya Communications to help them introduce their products to the North American IP telephony market. SIP Print provides an affordable appliance that offers pure system-level SIP voice recording for small to medium-sized businesses (SMBs).

The start-up had a company name but lacked an identity, messaging strategy and collateral system. Skyya’s challenge was to quickly establish the company as the only provider of pure SIP recording appliance for SMBs. SIP Print needed full marketing and PR horsepower to achieve their near-term goals – and on a defined budget. The clock was ticking and the Skyya team had two months to prepare for a major company launch. 

Skyya ramped quickly using a divide and conquer approach that leveraged our considerable expertise in the VoIP space along with best practice successes with clients such as Allworx (www.allworx.com). Half the Skyya team focused on marketing communications activities while the other half concentrated on the go-to-market plan and PR strategy. Skyya's strategy centered on making a big splash at the IP industry's largest conference. A well-orchestrated launch at TMC’s ITEXPO would be a critical milestone to building awareness and momentum with SMBs and the resellers and distributors that serve that sector.

SIP Print unveiled its product to a highly qualified audience at ITEXPO West 2008, nailed a speaking opportunity and garnered quality press coverage in several key industry publications, including PHONE+, Internet Telephony and Telecom Reseller. Additionally, Skyya’s launch strategy earned SIP Print the 2008 “Best of Show” award from conference organizers with follow-on honors as Internet Telephony’s “Product of the Year.” But we didn’t stop there. Since that successful company launch, Skyya has been instrumental in fine-tuning SIP Print's business plan, while simultaneously developing the company's Partner Program and helping build its worldwide distribution channel.
