Challenger Mobile
A Global Launch of Swedish Mobile Tech
In the red hot world of VoIP technologies, Mobile VoIP has been one of the most unique and promising advances in recent years. Stockholm-based Challenger Mobile (www.challengermobile.com) had a unique and innovative technical approach, but they needed our help orchestrating a scheduled launch at the Fall VON show in October.
Challenger, a mobile VoIP software solution, had a truly innovative platform but needed to tell that story through an integrated PR & marketing communications plan which would launch their product and generate brand-building buzz. As a strategic communications agency with a focus on getting the message right, we started with a unique positioning approach and a strategic key message claiming ownership of the “white-label mobile VoIP company.” Although Challenger had a logo, they had little else in their marketing arsenal. Our marketing team was instrumental in creating a complete collateral system, including: business cards, stationery, website content, brochures, press kits, folders, and more. We also designed a trade show display and booth graphics, and gave an image boost with clever presentations − all to ensure a powerful presence at Fall VON.
As a result, Challenger Mobile was formally unveiled at VON Europe in Rome in September 2007, followed by a big splash at Fall VON in October. This highly successful launch garnered Challenger several accolades, including the prestigious “Golden Mobile Innovation of the Year,” Communication Solutions’ and Internet Telephony’s “2007 Product of the Year Awards,” and VON Magazine’s “2008 Innovator Award.” As a result of over a dozen VON briefings, we secured coverage in top tier wireless and IT press including: Information Week, eWeek, Wireless Week, and TMC.
